Table Games
Baccarat
Baccarat is a glamorous game complete with the intrigue of 16th century
French aristocrats and the movie mystic of super-secret agents in tuxedos.
You have three betting options in Baccarat. You can bet that the player's
hand will win, that the banker's hand will win, or that both hands will tie.
A total of four cards are initially dealt. The first and third are the
player's hand, and the second and fourth are the banker's hand. The player's
hand will be placed face down in the area designated as "PLAYER" and
the banker's hand will be placed face down in the area designated as
"BANKER". Once the initial cards are dealt and exposed (player's hand
first and then the banker's hand) the dealer announces the totals for each hand
and additional cards are then drawn in accordance with the rules. (A maximum of
one additional card may be dealt to either hand.) Once the outcome of the hand
has been decided, the dealer will pick up all losing bets and pay all winning
bets. If you win with a bet on either the banker's or the player's hand, your
bet will be paid at 1 to 1 odds (even money). If you win with a bet on the
banker's hand, you will be charged a 5% commission on your winnings. If both
hands tie, neither hand wins or loses, but all bets made on the tie proposition
win. A tie bet is paid at 8-to-1 odds.
Blackjack
Blackjack is one of our most popular and exciting table games because it's
easy to learn, fast-paced and fun to play.
Everyone plays against the dealer. The dealer gives each player two cards;
one face down (hole card), and the other face up. The object is to draw cards
that total 21 or as close to 21 as possible without going over (busting). Ten,
Jack, Queen and King count as ten. Aces count as either one or eleven, depending
on the player's choice of use for their first two cards, the player has a
"Blackjack," and will win one and one-half times their bet unless the
dealer also has blackjack. If the dealer has Blackjack as well, it is a
"tie." It should be noted that the house stands on all 17's.
*Minimum bets vary depending on day and time of play.
Caribbean Stud
Caribbean Stud Poker brings its cruise ship and island-hopping lure to MGM
Grand Detroit Casino.
Caribbean Stud Poker is played on a twenty-one table and is based on the five
card stud poker game. A progressive jackpot payout is offered.
Ante Bet - Each player makes an opening bet (as in poker)
(a) A player wishing to participate in the progressive portion of the game may
wager one dollar ($1) by dropping it in the chip slot.
Bet to Call Dealer - If player feels he has a hand which will beat the dealer's
hand, he will make this bet. This is exactly twice the amount of the ante bet.
Fold - If player does not feel he has a strong enough hand to beat the dealer,
he will fold, and not make the bet to "Call the Dealer". The player
forfeits the ante bet.
Dealer's Hand - The dealer must have an Ace and King or higher to continue with
the game. If the dealer cannot "open" with an Ace/King, the hand is
over, and the dealer will collect the cards and pay ante bets only on players
who stayed in the hand.
If the dealer's hand is high enough to open and the player's hand is higher than
the dealer's hand, the player may qualify for a bonus based on the Bonus Payout
Schedule.
Craps
Craps is one of the fastest games around with roots that reach back through
English history.
There is a crew of three dealers working on the crap table that individually
have specific tasks and are responsible for servicing the guests. Craps offers a
large variety of bets that can be made by the guest. The guest is welcome to
participate in as many or as few different bets as he/she chooses. Guests join
in the action, betting as they choose on the player rolling the dice.
(A) Pass Line - You win on 7 and 11 and lose on 2, 3, or 12 on the first
roll. Any other number becomes your "point". If the point is rolled
again before a 7, you win even money. If a 7 comes up first you lose.
(B) Don't Pass Line - If a 2 or 3 is hit on the first roll, you win. A 12 is a
"standoff". If 7 or 11 is hit, you lose. Any other number becomes the
"point." If a 7 is rolled before that number, you win even money.
(C) Come - You can place a bet on the Come after a point has been established.
It is the same as betting on the Pass Line, and the action begins with the next
roll of the dice. This bet pays even money.
(D) Don't Come - The reverse of the Come bet. The winning numbers are 3 and 2
and you break even on 12. If a 7 or 11 is hit on the next roll, you lose. Any
other number becomes the "point" and if a 7 rolled first, you win even
money.
(E) Odds - After a "point" is determined ( either the shooter's
"point" or the first roll, or a "Come Point" on any
succeeding roll), you can take the odds and make an additional bet in support of
your original Pass Line or Come bet.
(F) Field - Field bets are a one-roll proposition and can be placed on any roll
of the dice. If a 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled, you win even money. If a 2 is
rolled, you win 2-to-1. If a 12 is rolled, you win 2-to-1. If a 5, 6, 7 or 8 is
rolled you lose.
(G) Place Bets - You can bet on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 to show before 7 and if it
does, you win. Check the payout chart for winnings and remember that Place Bets
have no action on the "come out" roll.
(H) Buy Bets - Buy Bets are exactly the same as Place Bets except that you pay a
5% commission and receive full odds as shown on the payout chart. A Buy Bet has
no action on the "come out" roll.
(I) Lay Bets - The reverse of Buy Bets, you bet that a 7 will show before your
number. By paying a 5% commission, on what the bet will win you receive full
odds as shown on the payout chart. A Lay Bet has action on the "come
out" roll.
(J) Proposition Bets - Proposition Bets are all one-roll bets (except for
"all day" Hardways) which means you will win or lose on these bets
with each roll of the dice. All proposition bets will be made on the center of
the table by the dealer who pays them on the next roll of dice.
(K) Any 7 - This is a one-roll proposition and you can bet on any roll. If a 7
is rolled, you win. This bet pays 5-to-1.
(L) Any Craps - This is a one-rule proposition. If 2, 3 or 12 rolls, you win.
This bet pays 8-for-1.
(M) Hardways - Hardway wagers may be made on the 4, 6, 8 and 10. In order to
win, the number selected must be rolled exactly as shown on the table. If the
number comes up in any other combination or if 7 is rolled, the player loses.
(N) 2, 3, 11 or 12 - This is a one-roll proposition. You must bet these numbers
individually or in combinations.
Let It Ride
Let It Ride Stud Poker is fun for those who enjoy good company without
competing against other players.
This is a poker game that does not require a poker face, because you do not
compete against the other players or the dealer. The player simply tries to get
a good five (5) card poker hand by using his/her three cards and the dealer's
two cards. Let It Ride Stud Poker was designed to offer the casino guest an
opportunity to control two of their three bets wagered on an exciting poker
game. It is based on the five card stud poker game and is enjoyable and easy to
learn and play. The players have the option of making an additional dollar
"Bonus" bet, to enter into a chance for a bonus payoff, paid on a hand
of Three-of-a-Kind or better. Players cannot show their hands to other players.
Each player places three (3) equal bets as indicated: (1) (2) (3), on the
table layout.
Each player receives three (3) cards.
After the player looks at the first three (3) cards, the player may ask for
their first bet back or they may "Let It Ride".
The dealer will then expose one community card (to be used as the player's 4th
card).
After seeing how the community card affects their poker hand, the player may
then ask for their second bet back or "Let It Ride." Player then
places the cards down under their remaining bet(s).
Bet number three (3) is the only bet that cannot be pulled back by the player.
The dealer will then expose the final community card (to complete the player's
five card hand).
A player who fails to attain a pair of tens or better will forfeit whatever bets
are still active.
The dealer takes all losing hands and pays all winning hands according to the
payout schedule.
Pai Gow Poker
Pai Gow Poker is a hybrid game derived from American poker and the Chinese
domino game Pai Gow with a history dating back to the building of the first
American railroads.
A traditional deck of 52 playing cards is used, plus one Joker. The Joker is
used only as an Ace or to complete a straight, a flush or a straight flush.
The game begins with a randomly generated number, or a roll of the dice, the
total of which determines the player who receives the first set of cards. The
house dealer delivers the cards by counting counterclockwise from the bank,
around the seven spots, starting from the bank as one, eight or fifteen. Each
player receives seven cards and creates two hands. The high hand is made up of
five cards, and the second high hand is made up of two cards. Both the high hand
and the second high hand must be higher than the bank hands to win. If only one
hand is higher, it is a tie. If both hands are lower, the player loses. Payoffs
are even money and the house collects a 5% commission on all winning wagers.
Roulette
Roulette's action is quick and intense as you wait for the ball to make its
deciding wheel slot drop in red or black, even or odd.
There are both single 0 and double 00 roulette wheels. This is a fast moving
but easy game to play. The player places his/her bet with casino chips or
special colored roulette chips that are designated to each roulette game. The
player determines the value of the roulette chips at the time of the buy-in.
There are thirty-six numbers,
0 and 00 that can be bet on, in a variety of combinations, on the roulette
layout. Additional bets include red/black, odd/even, 1 to 18, 19 to 36, first 12
numbers, second 12 numbers and third 12 numbers, three separate column bets and
the neighbor (made on the race track). The dealer then spins the ball. If it
lands where the player has placed their chips, the player wins. All other chips
are removed from the layout. The payoff is determined by how many numbers the
player's winning chips has covered.
